Stirling City Radio Visit
Huge thanks to Stirling City Radio for inviting Laura along today to promote our Young People Can event in October to beat a Guinness World Record.
Runrig Tickets and Dinner for 2!!
Start Up Stirling has been given a very special gift! We have been donated 2 tickets to Runrig’s farewell concert in Stirling on Friday 17th of August, as well as a lovely 2 course meal for 2 with a bottle of wine at Brea - Scottish Restaurant in Stirling at 3.00 the day of the concert.
Play some Games at the Highland Games
Start Up Stirling supports local people all over Stirlingshire who are facing hardship. From Bridge of Allan to Balfron, we cover it all. However, we are aware that our presence isn't as common in some of our more rural locations. So, we have decided to set up an awareness and fundraising stall at 2 highland games in Stirlingshire. We are attending Lochearnhead Highland Games on Saturday the 21st of July and Killin Highland Games on Wednesday the 1st of August!!
Let’s Get Quizzical
Where is the biggest monument in the world? Name all the Disney princesses. Who won BGT? You’ve guessed it, it’s quiz time! Start Up Stirling are holding a fundraising quiz on Friday 28th September at Stirling County Rugby Club at 7:30pm. £20 a team, maximum of 8 members. All the profits will go towards our Starter pack items and towards buying fresh fruit and veg for our food packs. Bring your friends, family, colleagues and neighbours along for a fabulous night of fun!
Stirling Citizens Advice Bureau Recruitment
Our friends at the Stirling Citizens Advice Bureau are recruiting a new advice worker to help out at our foodbanks.
Celebrating Starter Packs
This week, we have celebrated our Starter Packs. These packs are a collection of 3 boxes handed out to people in Stirlingshire in hardship who have been granted a new tenancy. These are some of our most important packs so we decided to raise some more awareness of them.
Volunteer Drivers Required
We are currently looking for a couple of new driver volunteers to help out with our rural foodbank deliveries.
Volunteer Week Support Service
It’s our final National Volunteering Week post (awww) but last and certainly no means least is Sandy, one of our volunteers who helps at our weekly support group sessions in Callendar. This is a new group to run as well as our weekly Stirling group so we asked how he felt about volunteering for Start Up Stirling.
