Get set for summer & school
Summer can be a great time of year, full of fun and excitement for children and their families, but for many it can be one of the most difficult times of year, both financially and emotionally.
“The last year has been very stressful and I get very anxious worrying about the future, but Start Up Stirling helped me greatly by offering school clothes that had been donated. Without help last year I would have really struggled as I suffered panic attacks and they were getting worse. But it felt good taking my wee one to school with some new clothes on after being at home for lockdown.”

For families, the summer holidays can be a challenging time, ensuring that they have enough food each week to live on, as well as finding enough money to buy school uniforms, school bags and shoes for the school year ahead. Due to Covid-19, furlough and unemployment, this is a very real worry for parents facing hardship across the Stirling Council area.
We are asking for your help, so that, together, we can provide families with the food and essentials they need this summer.
By supporting Start Up Stirling, you will be ensuring that families facing a crisis receive nutritious food and fresh goods when they need it most this summer. You will also be providing children and young people with new uniforms and essentials, helping to prepare them for the new term ahead and build their confidence and self-esteem.
£17 could fund a school uniform for a child or young person facing hardship, ensuring they feel confident when they return to school
£25 could fund a school backpack filled with stationery and essentials, readying a child or young person for the new term ahead
£45 could fund a family emergency foodpack, containing essential items and fresh produce to provide nutritious meals for the whole family for 3-4 days
There are a number of ways that you can help Start Up Stirling “Get set for summer & school”:
By donating food at one of our Donation Stations, situated throughout the Stirling Council area. We have a shopping list of items that we especially need right now, so please remember us when you are doing your weekly shop.
By donating funds via our website to provide fresh food, school uniforms or fuel to keep our delivery vans on the road. There is also a tap to donate machine for donations located in the King’s Mall at The Thistle’s Shopping Centre.
By purchasing an item from our Amazon Wishlist, such as school bags, pens and water bottles that will help to give the children and young people the best start when they go back to school.
By fundraising for us - you could organise a BBQ, bake sale or raffle and donate the funds raised to Start Up Stirling
