Dear supporters,
As we approach Christmas and the end of 2020, a year challenging year for everyone, we wanted to get in touch to thank you for supporting Start Up Stirling.
Your generosity has made a real difference to the lives of people across the Stirling area who have faced hardship during 2020. For those who have been referred to us, the pandemic and the uncertainty of 2020 has meant; loss of employment, family breakdown or abuse, homelessness, mental health issues and other challenging circumstances. Along with these distressing situations, they have all found themselves facing financial hardship and therefore unable to buy essential food items for themselves & their family.
At the beginning of lockdown, we moved our services to a home delivery only model which meant we continued to provide emergency food support and ensured we still reached every individual and family referred to us.

“I cannot believe how much you have helped me out by dropping off food, I get panic attacks and am so anxious about having to go into a supermarket that I would not go out of the house. Thanks again"
“I could not get a supermarket slot booked in for my elderly mum and without Start Up Stirling she would have had no food as I was self-isolating and could not help her, thanks again for the support"
We have seen a surge in demand during the pandemic and in the first four months alone, we delivered over 2,200 foodpacks to 1,245 adults and 600 children and young people living in poverty. Your gift ensured our vans were fuelled and our warehouse was stocked, so that we could reach these individuals and families with the basic essentials they needed to feed themselves.
So, although it’s been a tough year, thanks to you, people facing hardship across the Stirling area have received support when they’ve most needed it. Thank you.
